I will dominate 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the novice is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As both boxers met for the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
